## Recursive Resolver

Most systems in netwichtig.ch run their own recursive resolver for several reasons, e.g. DNSRBLs, VPNs, etc.

Since Open Resolvers are generally considered bad practice and require a lot of attention, they are limited to localhost, internal networks, VMs, VPNs, etc. and are not publicly accessible.


## Authoritative Nameserver

Primarily for the admins’ domains but open to hosting other people’s domains.

Netwichtig is part of a small group of server-admins who provide "secondary" services to each other.
